An authentic antique Japanese, early Edo period , samurai sword fitting. It is made of iron and has gold details, faces and hands seem to be copper, in a openwork pattern. Depicting a battle of samurai. We see on one side: 4 warriors / samurai in armour, one on a horse, one hanging on or trying to hold the horse. On the other side: a samurai in armour under stormy clods, a plum tree and beside the samurai – at the left and right – we see the back side of two of the samurai from the revers. Height: 8 cm / ca.
