Imperial Japanese Army WW2 IRON TSUBA TYPE 95 NCO SWORD + SCABBARD EXC Vtg Saber —
Having emerged late from feudalism, and transitioning to a modern colonial power in only a generation, Japan embarked on a path of conquest that was ended only by her defeat in WW2. Imperial Japanese Army NCOs of WW2 were issued the classic Type 95 NCO sword, which they prized just as their officers did their Samurai swords. This Imperial Japanese Army WW2 IRON TSUBA TYPE 95 NCO SWORD is in excellent condition, with some light scratching at each side of the blade, some finish abrading to the hilt, and with some light scattered age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the sword is in excellent shape, with no other damage. Most interestingly, it features a 27 3/4 crisp, bright fullered blade, sports the classic one piece cast aluminum hilt that retains approximately 80% of the original brown finish, and boasts the original ca. It’s stamped along the lower right side of the blade with the serial number “153210”, and is complete with the original IJA WW2 Matching Numbers Type 95 Metal Scabbard in good condition, with some overall scratching, finish abrading, and patina, and with some overall age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the scabbard is in fine shape, with absolutely no dents, cracking, or other damage, and retains approximately 40% of the original green/brown finish. Most interestingly, it’s stamped with the matching serial number “153210” at the top throat, carries the original metal hanging ring at the upper left side, and bears a single arsenal mark at the front drag.
