Tsuba The tsuba is a board-shaped metal fitting located between the hilt (tsuka), which is the part of the sword that is held, and the blade. It protects the hand from the blade of the opponent’s sword and prevents the hand from slipping and injuring the blade when the sword tip strikes the opponent. To attach it to the blade, a piece of copper or other material is embedded inside the tsuba to adjust the thickness of the blade and the size of the hole in the tsuba, and fix it in place. Some tsubas have a “hitsuana” (hole) for inserting and removing “kougai” (hairpin) and “kozuka” (small handle). We provide valid Tracking Numbers for all orders. Exchabge possible within 30 days.
