Tsuba Sword Fittings Edo period Large iron tsuba Shoami Demon-slaying With box. Thank you for looking. This is a Shoami tsuba. Height 8.2cm/3.2in. Width 7.8cm/3.1in. I’m not sure if it’s Shoki, but it’s a picture of someone slaying a demon, and the person is holding the rope with both hands and looks like he’s kicking the demon. The demon is also bracing himself with both hands, and the composition, the approaching chisel, and the way it thickens over the ears make this a masterpiece that is typical of Shoami.
