Product Details No box is included with this tsuba. The box shown in the images is for photography purposes only. Satsuma Tsuba – Mokko Shape – Iron Sword Guard – Otafuku. This listing features a typical Satsuma-style sword guard (tsuba) in the distinctive flattened mokko shape (nadegata mokko). It includes two small holes designed for passing cord (koyori) through to secure it to a kashira (pommel cap) – a classic feature of Satsuma fittings. This piece is suitable both as a display item and for mounting on your own sword fittings. Dimensions: Approximately 61.8mm × 52.5mm. Thickness: Approximately 4.7mm. No box is included with this tsuba. As this is an antique item that has aged over time, please carefully check the images for condition details. The mokko (wood-grain) shape with its characteristic four-lobed design is reminiscent of the cross-section of a melon or calabash, and is associated with the Otafuku (good luck) motif in Japanese culture.
