The balde was made of T10 steel in Maru structure. It was fully hand forged, hand shaping, hand polishing in the most traditional method of sword making. A special clay was applied on the blade to control the rate at which the blades cools when quenced after grinding(rough finishing). The clay ensures carbon does not simply escape during this process. What’s more, we are applying different thicknesses of clay to the edge and spine(back) of the blade respectively(Differential hardening), a beautiful real hamon was appeared result of Differential hardening. It was well heat treating (Refining) and quenching(Tempering) greatly improve the hardness and flexibility of the balde for real use. The blade has shaped in “SHINOGI-ZUKURI” style. There is Bo-Hi to keep good balance. The sword is sharp enough for cutting pratice, very good choice for Dojo students and collection, gifts and display. It is durable enough for cutting tameshigiri and bamboo. (1) The wooden sword stand in item pictures is NOT included. A random sword bag comes with the sword. (2) This Katana can be taken apart fully anytime for maintenance purposes, you can disassemble the sword from the handle by taking out two pegs. (3) Due to our swords are full hand made. So specs will vary slightly from sword to sword. Dear customers, the sword is available to be customized, you can choose from a great range of fittings, tsuba, Ito&Sageo and Saya and ray skin instead the original ones in the pictures to make the super sword that is unique to you. Basic Fittings Change Alloy Tsuba. Select Iron Tsuba Only. Select Brass Fuchi and Kashira Only. (Famous for its hardness which will protect the handle from being damaged than common silk ito). HA-01 to HA-03 are free for choosing. We can engrave Chinese characters, English letters or Japanese kanji and other languages. The deliver time is about 7-15 days, which depends on the Custom clearance efficiency. Specially customized sword would cost more time since all our swords are handmade swords.
