Edo Period Japanese Iron Tsuba Hotei Motif Gold Silver Copper Inlay No Box. Edo Period Iron Tsuba – Hotei Motif – Gold, Silver, and Copper Inlay – No Box. This fine iron tsuba from the Edo period showcases an elegant depiction of Hotei, the deity of happiness and good fortune, rendered in gold, silver, and copper inlay (zogan). Hotei is one of Japan’s Seven Lucky Gods (Shichifukujin), often associated with contentment, prosperity, and abundance. The tsuba is preserved in good antique condition, exhibiting minor wear and age-related patina typical for pieces of its time. Please note that a kiri (paulownia wood) box is not included.
