This exceptional oval iron tsuba (sword guard) features a magnificent cloud dragon design executed by the master Naomasa of the prestigious Yanagawa School. The piece showcases exquisite katakiri-bori (single-side relief carving) and kebori (hair-line engraving) techniques on a finely polished shibuichi (Traditional copper-silver alloy) ground. Complete with a single kurikata hole, this remarkable guard exemplifies the highest quality of Japanese metalwork artistry. Good condition – As shown in the images, there are minor scratches and slight wear consistent with age and use, but no significant damage.
