1600, Japanese, Rare Double Edged Tanto Dagger With mounts, 9 7/8 blade nagasa. Outstanding brass and silver foil double habaki. Hamon goes all the way around the blade on both sides and is Suguha with small areas of Notariba. As shown in photos there are a couple tiny lines of open grain on the steel surface. This is an old sword that appears to have been re-mounted stateside post World War II. The ito wrap is quite nice, menuki are matched and Fuchi-kashira are both polished Horn.
