Large photos below just under the description. A Strong & beautiful very-attractive fine old iron Tsuba. Very thick Tsuba with very high reliefs that stick out! Dragon is higher than the rim. Jidai (era) : late- Edo period 18 / 19th century. Motif design : Dragon in clouds & waves. Well forged iron with A well exhecuted deep & very-high raised carving motif in 3-D with fine details. A beautiful rich & deep very dark chocolate brown patina. Mix with gold inlay’s / overlay’s. The fukurin & the 2 hitsu-ana insert’s are made of solid thick gold-foil 18 karat. No rust no pitting or no damage of any kind! The iron color / patina inlay’s & overlay’s are in excellent clean condition! Katana sizes : 8.13 cm x 7.86 cm. Thickness : 6.2 mm at center / seppa-dai.
